Why it matters

The producer

Native grape varieties predominate in the 30 hectares of vineyards owned by Bodegas Antonio Arraez. Antonio Arráez Garrigós began the winery in 1950. Toni Arráez Calabuig has been director since 2007, leading the third generation.

Place and vineyards

Where the wines begin

Font de la Figuera, Valencia, is the home of Bodegas Antonio Arraez. Its vineyards lie 90 kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and at 600 to 800 metres above sea level. Elevation generally brings cooler conditions than nearby lowland sites, which can slow ripening and help preserve acidity.

Wines to know

The range in view

Vivir Sin Dormir Monastrell Organico 2022 is a red wine from Jumilla. Monastrell appears in the wine's name, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels. It has a nuanced, fruity profile with oak character, dark cherries, blackberries, plums, black pepper, cocoa, violet, cedar and vanilla. On the palate it is full bodied, rich and velvety.
