Where the wines begin
Honoro Vera Garnacha carries the Calatayud appellation, in Aragón, Spain, where Bodegas Ateca works its vineyards. The vineyards are planted in slate soils between 750 and 1000 metres above sea level. High elevation can slow ripening and help preserve acidity. Slate is a dark, layered rock that allows water to move through the ground while storing warmth, affecting both drainage and heat around the vines.

The range in view
Honoro Vera Garnacha is the core entry level red in Bodegas Ateca's range. It is a Garnacha wine from Calatayud. On the nose, it shows blackberry, blueberry and plum, with baking spice, cola and licorice. Black pepper, chocolate and graphite add further aromatic notes. The finish is dry and tart, with vibrant acidity.
