Why it matters

The producer

Château de Parenchère is an eastern Bordeaux estate with clay-limestone soils and vineyards planted for both red and white wines. The very high clay content contributes to the strength of the wines. Per Landin acquired the majority stake, and Richard Curty serves as Managing Director.

Organic farming includes grass between the rows, traditional tilling and organic fertilizers limited to the strictest needs of the vine. Organic certification followed more than 20 years of commitment to soil and environmental preservation. The 2024 vintage was the first fully labeled organic vintage.

Place and vineyards

Where the wines begin

Château de Parenchère lies on the eastern edge of the Bordeaux wine-growing region, 38 kilometers from Saint-Emilion and near Sainte-Foy-la-Grande. The range includes Château de Parenchère Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge, Château de Parenchère Blanc and La Roseraie, alongside two red cuvées.

Wines to know

The range in view

The five named wines are Château de Parenchère La Roseraie, Château de Parenchère L'Equilibriste, Château de Parenchère Cuvée Raphaël, Château de Parenchère Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge and Château de Parenchère Blanc.

L'Equilibriste and Cuvée Raphaël are red wines, Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge is the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation bottling, and Château de Parenchère Blanc is the white wine. La Roseraie is a rosé of great freshness, with rose petal colour and very fine, subtle floral aromas of rose, hawthorn and lychee.
