Why it matters

The producer

Gilbert Dupuy started producing bottled wine in his quest for superior quality. The Dupuy family has been winemakers since 1772, with ancestors producing grapes at Noliquet in Lansac. Joël Dupuy replaced his father at the head of the company and created Château Laroche Joubert as a second brand. Damien Dupuy, the eighth generation of winemakers, joined the domaine. Vignobles Dupuy earned HVE3 certification in 2019.

Place and vineyards

Where the wines begin

Wines to know

The range in view

The range includes Château Labadie, Château Laroche Joubert and Château Moulin des Richards. Château Labadie 2020 is a red Côtes de Bourg made from 51% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. The must fermented in steel tanks, then the wine spent time in small French oak barrels.

The 2021 vintage uses tank and barrel ageing and produced 30,000 bottles. It earned two stars in the 2025 Guide Hachette. Fine spice, dark fruit and new oak mark the opening, followed by a round, powerful and warm palate with volume, concentration and a return of fruit. Its preferred drinking window is 2027 to 2032, with herb roasted lamb chops as a pairing.
