The producer
The château is a Renaissance style building constructed in 1827 on the ruins of a former feudal castle. The estate covers 30 hectares. Its range includes red wines built from Merlot and Cabernet, along with a white made from Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle.

Where the wines begin
The wines carry the Côtes de Bourg appellation. The vineyard lies on a slope facing south, giving the vines more direct sunlight during the growing season. That exposure can help Merlot ripen early and Cabernet Sauvignon reach full maturity, supporting red wines made from both grapes.

The range in view
Château Tayac 2018 is the red named for the estate. Cuvée Réservée is made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet and aged two years in barrels. Cuvée Océane is the white wine, made from Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle.
Rubis du Prince Noir 2018 comes from younger vineyard parcels. It uses Merlot with smaller quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and shows vigor, freshness and stone fruit notes.
