Why it matters

The producer

Cordier's Mythique label assembles wines through cooperative sourcing. Wines destined for Mythique assemblies receive payment above commodity rates, and an oenologist team then tastes them blind as part of the quality selection.

Place and vineyards

Where the wines begin

Pays d'Oc and Languedoc give the range two different label categories. IGP Pays d'Oc is a geographical indication, while AOC Languedoc is an appellation designation with its own production rules. The bottles therefore carry either a broader regional name or an appellation name. Mythique Caractère d'Altitude Corbières carries the Corbières AOP designation, while La Cuvée Mythique carries Pays d'Oc.

Wines to know

The range in view

Mythique Caractère d'Altitude Corbières is a red Corbières AOP wine. La Cuvée Mythique 2021 is a white Pays d'Oc wine. Over the past two years, the whites have become more taut and lighter, while the reds have become less marked by oak.
