The producer
Jean-Marc Roulot spent his teenage years and early twenties at the Paris Conservatory studying acting before returning to winemaking. He took control of Domaine Roulot in 1989. Domaine Roulot is based in Meursault, Bourgogne, and produces still Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The vines are farmed organically, and the soil is worked by hand to encourage deep root development. Under Jean-Marc Roulot, Domaine Roulot moved from heavier wines toward purer wines while retaining quality, complexity and ageing potential.
Place and vineyards
Where the wines begin
Domaine Roulot is based in Meursault, Bourgogne. Its holdings include premier crus and named parcels. On a Burgundy label, a premier cru identifies a classified vineyard level, while a named parcel narrows the label to a specific piece of ground.
The range therefore moves between village wines and bottles tied to a more specific vineyard level or place. Meursault remains the shared address across those categories.

The range in view
The range consists of still Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Chardonnay provides the white wines, while Pinot Noir provides the red wines. Village wines carry the broader village level; premier cru wines and named parcels give the label a narrower vineyard address.
New wood is limited to no more than 20 per cent for village wines and 25 to 30 per cent for the crus. New oak contributes oxygen during ageing and can add spice and texture, while the restrained proportions keep the cellar influence measured.
