Why it matters

The producer

Karl Sjöström and Mikael Nypelius founded Fruktstereo. Production began in 2016 with 3,000 bottles made at Hällåkra vineyard outside Malmö, using mostly foraged fruit.

Fruktstereo now produces more than 50,000 bottles a year in central Malmö. Its range spans cider, fruit pét-nat, wine and related beverages. The production uses Swedish produce grown without pesticides, with no additives and only the indigenous yeast carried by the fruit.

Wines to know

The range in view

Chateau Nubbgatan Orange is a still fruit wine made in an orange-wine style. It combines apples, white grapes, pears and quince. The quince and grape skins undergo three weeks of skin maceration before storage in amphora and oak barrels. The wine is high in tannins, strongly tropical-fruited and low in alcohol.
