The producer
Malbec leads the vineyard at Clos Triguedina, with Merlot and Tannat also planted. The Baldès family is recognised as one of the founding families of the Cahors appellation. Jean Luc Baldès has 30 years of winemaking experience at the estate.
Clos Triguedina holds HVE Level 3 certification and ISO 26000 certification, which reflects a commitment to corporate social responsibility. The estate's work therefore joins Cahors family history with environmental and social standards attached to the property itself.
Place and vineyards
Where the wines begin
Cahors is the appellation attached to Clos Triguedina and to La Part des Biches. The estate's terroir combines argilo calcareous and argilo siliceous soils.
Argilo refers to clay, a soil component that can retain water. Calcareous and siliceous describe different mineral materials in the ground. These terms identify the physical setting of the vineyards, while Cahors names the appellation carried by the red wine.

The range in view
Malbec accounts for 75% of the vineyard plantings, complemented by Merlot and Tannat. La Part des Biches 2019 is a red Cahors made from 100% Malbec, so the named bottling narrows the estate's three grape varieties to one.
La Part des Biches has a deep, intense black colour. Its nose begins with dark fruit and prune, accompanied by coffee notes, then opens toward cocoa, macerated fruit and violet. On the palate, the wine is rounded, with soft, well integrated tannins carrying cocoa and fruit notes.
