The producer
Seven vignerons make up Les Vignerons de Gaujac, a cooperative in Gaujac, Gard, with 140 hectares of vineyards. Founded in 1928, the cooperative makes wines within the Côtes du Rhône appellation. Its wines are produced under one collective name, with the work shared across the cooperative's members.

Where the wines begin
Gaujac is in the Gard, and the cooperative's wines carry the Côtes du Rhône appellation. An appellation is the geographic category printed on a wine label. Cuvée de l'Oppidum adds a more local reference, taking its name from a Roman era fortified settlement on Saint Vincent hill above the village.
The settlement had a protective ring of walls and entry towers. The label carries the regional appellation, while the cuvée name carries the hill's archaeological reference.

The range in view
The range includes four Côtes du Rhône wines: Cuvée de l'Oppidum rosé 2024, Cuvée de l'Oppidum red 2022, Le Petit Bois red 2023, and Harmonie red 2023. Cuvée de l'Oppidum appears in both red and rosé, while Le Petit Bois and Harmonie are red wines in the range.
The rosé is made from 80% Grenache and 20% Cinsault. Its palate offers pleasant sweetness, cherry and stone fruit notes, then a crisp finish.
