The producer
Louis Henry Denis Jadot founded Maison Louis Jadot after acquiring a négociant firm. The house's named properties include Domaine Ferret in Fuissé in the Mâconnais and Château des Jacques in Moulin à Vent in Beaujolais. It produces exclusively AOC wines, so each bottle sits within France's appellation system, where place and production rules govern the label. Frédéric Barnier serves as Technical Director.
Place and vineyards
Where the wines begin
Maison Louis Jadot's named addresses stretch from Fuissé in the Mâconnais to Moulin à Vent in Beaujolais. The range also carries Chablis, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, so the place name changes with the wine. Louis Jadot Santenay is a Côte de Beaune red, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Louis Jadot is a Côte de Nuits red, and Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé comes from the Mâconnais. Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre brings a separate Chablis address.
These names are appellation and vineyard designations, not interchangeable labels. Château des Jacques Morgon Côte du Py and Beaujolais Villages Combe aux Jacques extend the range into Beaujolais.

The range in view
The range is broad in both level and colour. Bourgogne Côte d'Or, Coteaux Bourguignons Rouge Maison Louis Jadot and Louis Jadot Coteaux Bourguignons Blanc sit at broad regional levels, while Santenay and Savigny-les-Beaune Clos Guettes carry village names. Beaune Premier Cru Célébration, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Louis Jadot and Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre use Premier Cru or Grand Cru designations, which mark higher vineyard classifications in Burgundy.
The red wines include Pinot noir in Santenay. The white wines include Chablis, Savigny-les-Beaune and Pouilly-Fuissé. Beaujolais appears through Château des Jacques Morgon Côte du Py and Beaujolais Villages Combe aux Jacques.
