The producer
Pierre Pagès created Mas Pagés in 2018, bringing a separate estate name to a family rooted in Vacquières. He is the son of Gilles and Sylvie Pagès of Mas de Figuier, and is described as a fifth-generation winegrower in Pic Saint Loup; André, his Grenache-Syrah red, carries that local family thread into a bottle under his own name.
The estate is based at Hameau de Figuier, a hamlet in Vacquières. That address matters on the label because Pic Saint Loup is one of the designations under which Mas Pagés works, while the producer also makes wines under the wider Languedoc and IGP Pays d’Oc names.

Where the wines begin
Vacquières sits within the Pic Saint Loup wine area, and Mas Pagés uses the place name in more than one way. A wine labelled Pic Saint Loup, such as André, identifies a red made within that appellation; Languedoc and IGP Pays d’Oc on other bottles signal that the range also reaches beyond this single designation.
For André 2024, the place is paired with Grenache and Syrah rather than treated as decoration. Grenache brings red-fruit character into the blend, while Syrah supports the darker blackberry fruit, pepper and liquorice noted in the wine; together they give the Pic Saint Loup label a flavourful, structured red-wine expression.

Mas Pagés cultivates its 12 hectares organically, and the estate says both vines and wines are handled under the AB Ecocert charter. That is the confirmed working method behind André and the broader range, so the relevant consequence in the glass is not a claim of a particular soil character but a wine shaped from organically cultivated fruit.
Cellar detail for André 2021 is not settled: one account reports barrel ageing while another reports stainless-steel tank. The useful certainty lies in the wine itself: Grenache and Syrah make a red with documented fruit, acidity and structure, while the differing cellar accounts should not be turned into a false claim of oak flavour or tank-driven freshness.

The confirmed range spans Languedoc, IGP Pays d’Oc and Pic-Saint-Loup wines. These names describe different designation contexts rather than a documented ladder of cuvées: the range reaches from a broad regional label to the more specific Pic Saint Loup name, with André the clearly identified red at the latter level.
André 2024 is a red Pic Saint Loup of Grenache and Syrah. It brings blackberry and wild raspberry fruit into contact with violet, rosemary, black pepper and liquorice, so its architecture is more than a list of grapes: red and dark fruit sit over floral lift, herbal spice and a firm structural frame.

Start with Mas Pagés André 2024. It is a red Pic Saint Loup made from Grenache and Syrah, so it puts the estate’s Vacquières base, organic cultivation and most clearly documented appellation-grape partnership into one glass. Expect blackberry and wild raspberry, violet, rosemary, black pepper and liquorice, with dry fruit, active acidity and a structured finish. It comes first because it is the named bottle that most directly joins Pierre Pagès’s new estate to the place where he works.
