The producer
Quinta de Porrais once belonged to Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known as Ferreirinha. Since 2011, Casa Santos Lima has been a partner and is responsible for producing and commercializing the estate's wines. The vineyards have an average age of 65 years.

Where the wines begin
The Marão and Montemuro mountains shelter Quinta de Porrais from the regional winds. Rain is limited and concentrated in December and January, leaving the rest of the year warm and dry. A warm, dry season can lower fungal pressure and support ripening, while shelter from wind reduces water loss from the vines.

The range in view
Quinta de Porrais Tinto 2017 is a red wine from the Douro. The vineyard is planted 60% to white varieties and 40% to red varieties. The white group comprises Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Viosinho and Verdelho. The red group comprises Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão and Tinta Barroca. The named Tinto represents the red side of a property planted across both colour groups.
