Oryahovitsa lies in Rose Valley, with vineyards on the southern slopes of Sredna Gora at 170 to 260 metres. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are among its traditional red varieties. Merlot is described as soft, with ripe-fruit aromas, while Cabernet Sauvignon is darker in colour, tannic and suited to ageing. Oryahovitsa Winery dates its history to 1936.
