The producer
Diogène began the Tissier family's winemaking lineage in 1931. Jean-Marie followed him, then Jacques, who established the Champagne JM Tissier brand in 1998 with Marie-Christine. Anthony is now the fourth generation.
The estate spans 6 hectares across the southern slopes of Épernay, the Sézannais valley and the Marne valley, with Grand Cru vineyard access in Cramant and Chouilly. Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier each account for 40% of the vineyard, with Pinot Noir at 20%. The estate has HVE and VDC certifications.

Where the wines begin
Chavot-Courcourt is a village on the southern slopes of Épernay. The vineyards also extend through the Sézannais valley and the Marne valley, while Cramant and Chouilly provide access to Grand Cru vineyards.
Grand Cru is Champagne's top vineyard classification. These holdings place the family village alongside classified vineyard sites in two named Champagne villages.

The range in view
The named bottles include Ancestrale 2013 and Diogenis Blanc de Blancs Brut 2016. Ancestrale 2013 has an amber gold colour, with notes of breadcrumbs, toast and honey.
Ancestrale is dosed at Brut 4 g/liter. Dosage is the small addition made after disgorgement, and Brut describes a dry sparkling style. Diogenis Blanc de Blancs is a white Champagne made from white grapes, with its 2016 vintage identified on the bottle.
