Madiran and the Pyrenean appellations bring together Tannat reds and Manseng whites. Madiran is built around Tannat, a grape that can give deep colour, firm tannin and wines suited to long ageing. In Jurançon, Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng make dry and sweet whites with acidity and intensity. Irouléguy adds red and white wines near the Spanish border.
