Rhodes's main winegrowing zone lies in the island's central-western sector. Athiri is planted at mid-to-high altitudes, while Amorgiano, also called Mandilaria, grows lower down. Rhodes also makes sparkling wines with warm-climate fruit ripeness and freshness. Moschatos Rodou comes from scattered Muscat White and Muscat di Trani vineyards in several districts.
