Rapsani

Rapsani sits at the foot of Mount Olympus, where vineyards rise from 100 to 700 metres. Its PDO combines equal parts Xinomavro, Krasato and Stavroto, then ages the wine in large oak barrels.

At the foot of Mount Olympus, Rapsani vineyards run from 100 to 700 metres. The higher sites have light, stony schist with iron patches and cold mountain currents. Its PDO wine brings together equal quantities of Xinomavro, Krasato and Stavroto, then spends time in large oak barrels. Krasato adds dry extract, sugar and deeper colour; Stavroto brings medium acidity and firm tannins. In a good Rapsani, look for ripe fruit, dried herbs and spice, with integrated oak and velvety tannins.
