Pannon is a broad wine designation in southern Hungary covering Pécs, Villány, Szekszárd and Tolna. The landscape includes limestone, loess, loam and clay across its hilly vineyards. Red wine is more common than white, and the region is associated with ripe, concentrated wines, plush tannins and ageing potential.
