Piana Rotaliana is a key part of this Trentino wine area. Its fertile valley floor and surrounding mountains help Teroldego ripen fully, producing structured reds suited to the warm conditions. Teroldego is deeply coloured and medium-bodied, with moderate tannin, acidity, red fruit, violets and sometimes bitter almond.
