Much of Eastern Serbia is hilly or mountainous, with continental weather, marked temperature swings and uneven rainfall. Its strongest wine reference point is the Negotin Valley, where hills sit close to the Danube. Varied microclimates and soils contribute to the area's wine character, and Prokupac and Tamjanika are native grapes here.
In Rajac, the cellar quarter stands apart from the residential village. These traditional stone pimnice line narrow lanes behind heavy wooden doors, used for wine storage and handling. Rajac belongs to the Negotin region and the wider Negotinska Krajina wine tradition. Pimnice names the cellar settlement, not a grape.
