Cape South Coast is a South African wine region in the Western Cape geographical unit. It includes the districts of Elgin, Overberg, Walker Bay, Cape Agulhas, Swellendam, Lower Duivenhoks River and Plettenberg Bay, with wards below them in the Wine of Origin hierarchy.
Atlantic proximity, wind, demanding conditions and long hang time shape the wines. The region ranges from cool-climate whites and Pinot Noir to Mediterranean varieties and sparkling wines, with different conditions from one district to the next.
