Txakoli is made in three Basque designations, tied to Getaria, Bizkaia and Álava. Its white wines show fruit, flower and herb aromas, fresh balanced acidity and a slightly bitter finish. Basque growers began the organized recovery of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza in the 1980s.
