Mantinia

Mantinia's plateau and slopes produce fresh Moschofilero wines. Still whites range from rose-scented to citrusy, while traditional-method sparkling versions add yeasty, brioche-like notes.

Mantinia lies in central-eastern Arcadia, where a plateau averaging 660 metres meets slopes that reach 800 metres. Mediterranean conditions have a continental influence here, making it one of Greece's colder PDO zones. Slow ripening and a late harvest help retain freshness and aromatic development. The wines contain at least 85% Moschofilero and may be still dry whites or sparkling whites. Plateau sites tend to be more rose-scented, while the slopes give more citrusy wines with higher acidity. Traditional-method sparkling Mantinia adds yeasty, brioche-like notes to Moschofilero's aromas.
