Hajós-Baja lies within Duna beside Kunság, with the Danube to the west. The Bácska Loess Ridge is part of its landscape, where loess mixes with sand. German settlers brought to Hajós in 1722 to revive viticulture helped establish the area's Swabian wine culture.
