Etyek-Buda makes light-bodied still and sparkling wines that are full-flavoured and high in acidity. Limestone soils and a cool climate shape the area, where Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir are important varieties. One name is worth keeping separate: Etyeki Pezsgő is a PDO distinct from Etyek-Buda wine and sparkling wine. Etyek-Buda sparkling wine and Etyeki Pezsgő are not interchangeable terms.
