Taranto & Ionian Arc is a wine area within Apulia. Tarantino IGP covers all of Taranto province and permits sparkling, passito and novello wines, with novello limited to red grapes. It also permits late-harvest wines from overripe grapes. Primitivo di Manduria produces wines described as high in alcohol, warm, broad and persistent, with noble tannins. Other listed appellations include Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale, Colline Joniche Tarantine, Lizzano and Brindisi.
