The Willamette Valley follows the Willamette River for more than 100 miles between the Coast Range and Cascades. Its growing season is cool, dry and sunny, and eleven nested AVAs sit within the valley. Pinot noir leads the plantings, alongside Pinot gris, Chardonnay and Riesling. David Lett planted the first Willamette Valley Pinot noir cuttings here in February 1965.
