Arbois is Jura's broadest appellation, with whites, reds and oxidative wines all under one name. Chardonnay and Savagnin appear in topped-up whites, oxidative styles and Vin Jaune. Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir make reds that can be pale, spicy and earthy. Its village sites lie on limestone and marl, and the range of sites leaves room for very different producer styles.
