Côtes du Jura covers a wider set of villages and slopes than Arbois, Château-Chalon or L'Étoile. It brings together small villages and producers beyond Jura's narrower appellation names. Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir all appear here. Its breadth allows smaller estates and hillside sites outside the tighter appellations to make wines that still read unmistakably as Jura.
