Touraine shows a different side of the Loire, with Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc taking the lead. Chinon, Bourgueil and Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil are Cabernet Franc appellations, while Vouvray and Montlouis-sur-Loire make Chenin in dry, sweet and sparkling styles. The area also includes Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny for blended whites and Romorantin, Jasnières for northern Chenin Blanc, and the Touraine and Touraine-Chenonceaux appellations.
