Côtes de Provence is the broad appellation behind much of Provence rosé, extending from the Var coast to inland hills and covering more than 20,000 hectares. Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah make the reds and rosés, while Rolle is used for whites. Coast, hills and the mistral give this large area several different settings, reflected in names such as Sainte-Victoire, Fréjus, La Londe, Pierrefeu and Coteaux Varois en Provence.
