Macerata Hills is a wine area within Marche, with Colli Maceratesi and San Ginesio among its listed appellations. Inland earth and a marine breeze shape the hills. Ribona, an indigenous Macerata variety, was revived through focused producer work after growers had advised choosing easier grapes. A modernizing group now works with Ribona alongside Sangiovese and Montepulciano.
