Ascoli Piceno & Southern Marche is a wine area within Marche. Rosso Piceno, Offida, Terre di Offida and Falerio are among its listed appellations and form part of the Piceno denomination system. Rosso Piceno DOC was created in 1968 to protect a balance between Montepulciano and Sangiovese. Terre di Offida includes sparkling and passito expressions of Pecorino and Passerina. Offida Pecorino is associated with high acidity and immediate freshness.
