Harsovo is a wine area in Bulgaria's Struma Valley, where winegrowing reaches back at least to 3500 BC. Its hilly vineyards mostly face south, a position associated with warmer, riper fruit than at less exposed sites in the valley. A local tourism account says Winston Churchill received two barrels of Broadleafed Melnik Vine from Harsovo each year.
