Plešivica, Sveta Jana and Vivodina are the principal named winegrowing areas of Plešivica, in Croatia's Croatian Uplands. Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are its representative white varieties; Portugizac and Pinot Noir represent the reds. The Church, nobility, and the wealthy towns of Samobor and Jastrebarsko preserved its winemaking tradition. Plešivica is a protected EU wine-origin name.
