Circeo DOC is the main reference point for the Pontine Plain & Southern Tyrrhenian Coast. Its production area includes Latina, Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo and Terracina. The whites are fresh and easy-drinking, with citrus and apple aromas. Circeo bianco must contain at least 55% Trebbiano Toscano, with Chardonnay and Malvasia del Lazio each allowed up to 30%. Reds and rosatos are based on at least 55% Merlot, with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon each permitted up to 30%.
