Adamclisi's chernozemic and rendzina soils distinguish it from nearby Murfatlar and Oltina. The whites show pronounced mineral notes, while the reds are medium-bodied with bold fruit. Compared with Danube-side Oltina, Adamclisi has less mist and reaches maturity earlier. Greater polyphenol and anthocyanin accumulation produces rounder, velvety wines. Whites can show blood orange, banana, pineapple, gooseberry, grapefruit and elderflower. Reds may bring overripe blueberry, almond, bitter black cherry, pepper, smoked prune and blackcurrant notes over velvety tannins.
