Murfatlar is a Dobrogea wine area with high solar resources and Romania's lowest average precipitation. Its soils are mainly conchiferous limestone rich in calcium carbonate. The Black Sea helps regulate autumn temperatures. Still wines are full-bodied and velvety, with ripe fruit, integrated acidity and a glyceric richness that can suggest slight sweetness. Whites may show exotic and citrus fruit, vine flowers, fresh-cut hay, jasmine and acacia. The full-bodied reds range in colour from ruby red to intense purple.
